Eligibility requirements
- Minimum monthly income of €2,700.
- Work contract with the employer oustside Malta
- If owner or shareholder of a company, documentary proof of the ownership
- If providing freelancing services in other countries, it should be through regular contracts.
- On Maltese digital nomad visa, you can invite your spouse and minor children. If any child has disability or financially dependent he/she can be also invited.

The application fee is €300. For additional family members €300 per person is to be paid.

Malta Digital Nomad Visa application procedure
- Fill out the forms – you need to fill out the following forms, the Visa Application Form (N1) and General Data Protection Form (N4). N2 form is optional if you want to bring family members to Malta. It should be typewritten and don’t forget to attach your signature.
- Application form N1. Application form for Nomad Residence Permit
- Application form N2. This application applies if you want to bring a family member to Malta.
- Application form N4. General Data Protection Regulation Declaration Form
- Prepare a letter of intent – you need to write a letter of intent to go with your application. Explain the reason why you are planning to shift to Malta based on Malta digital nomad visa.
- Attached the documents including copy of your passport, character certificate and contracts discussed above in Eligibility Requirements
- Attach Bank statement to show the proof income
- Lease Purchase Agreement in Malta – It can be submitted after the approval of application.
- Health insurance – health insurance is required however it can be submitted after approval of application.
- Health declaration – you have to give a written declaration that you are willing to pay for any medical expenses/treatment not provided under the health insurance policy.
- Marriage certificate – In case are moving to Malta with your spouse, you must include a copy of your marriage certificate. The marriage certificate has to be notarized
- If you are planning bring family members, submit a copy of their birth certificates which should be notarized
- If you are including a dependent who is above 18 years old in application, attach an affidavit confirming the dependency of the person on you .
- Application is to be submitted online. You must submit the application at the Residency Malta Agency online via email at [email protected]. After sending the email, you must wait for an answer from the agency. If application is approved , the agency will invite you to Malta to continue to apply for a residence permit
